PROMOTING COMPETITION IN THE DOMESTIC ISRAELI MARKET THROUGH PUBLIC PROCUREMENT, STANDARTS AND TECHNOLOGY AUDIT

Abstract

The article deals with the system of public procurement, standards and technology audit as tools to enhance efficiency of the national economy on the basis of selection of the most competitive suppliers of goods and services. Harmonization of national standards and public procurement regime with WTO rules increases competition in the domestic market, that has been using for a very long time the «greenhouse» regime of protectionism. This mainly concerns civil proceedings.
